Ceramic coating

Water leaves. Dirt slides. Washing takes ten minutes.

A ceramic coating is a hard, glass-like layer bonded to your clear coat. It is not a wax that wears off in a month; it is the reason a coated car looks washed after rain. We do the correction first, so what we lock in is paint that is actually flat.

Prep
8 to 12 hours. Wash, iron and clay decontamination, one-stage correction, panel wipe, two coats by hand, overnight cure under the lights. Nothing sprayed on in a parking lot.

Warranty
Five years in writing against fading, oxidation, and loss of beading. One annual check-and-wash, here or by the van, keeps it valid.
What it is not
Scratch-proof. It shrugs off bird droppings, road film, and most wash marring. Keys, shopping carts, and gravel still win. We will say this again before you pay.

Paint correction

Swirls are scratches. Polishing removes them. We will tell you how many.

Those spiderwebs you see under a gas station canopy are thousands of fine scratches in the clear coat, mostly from automatic washes and dirty towels. A machine polish levels the clear coat by a few microns so light reflects flat again. Nothing is filled in or hidden. Same paint, now flat.

Before we touch it we take a paint-depth reading on every panel. If the clear coat is too thin to polish safely, you get the number and we stop there, no charge.

One-stage

A single pass with a finishing polish. Takes out light swirls, water spots, and wash marring. Scratches you can catch with a fingernail stay.

Two-stage

Compound first to cut the deeper defects, then polish to refine the finish. Removes most of what you can see in direct sun. Rock chips and scratches into the primer stay; those need paint, not polish.

Percentages are typical. We quote yours after the reading, not before. Put a sealant or a coating on after correction, or the swirls come back with the first bad wash.

We come to you, within 20 miles of the shop.

The van carries 100 gallons of water, a generator, a pressure washer, and everything the bay has except the lift and the lights. Refresh and Full detail travel. Showroom, correction, and coating stay at the shop, where we control the light and the dust.

What we need at your place

  • WaterA hose bib we can reach. No spigot? Say so when you book and we run off the tank.
  • PowerA standard outdoor outlet within 100 feet. Otherwise the generator runs, and your neighbors hear it.
  • ShadeShade or a garage when it is over 85 degrees. Hot paint flashes product, and we will not work it.

+$25 per visit, any package. Two or more cars at one address and the fee is waived.

The shop

Drop it in the morning. Drive it home at five.

Two bays behind the tire shop on Kessler Road, lit at 5,000K so we see what the sun will show you. No waiting room worth sitting in, so we drive you home within five miles, or you leave the keys in the box before we open.

A shop day

  1. 8:00 Drop off. Keys in the box if you are early. We walk the car with you if you are not.
  2. Noon A text with photos of anything we found: a scratch you did not know about, a floor mat you did.
  3. 5:00 Pickup under the lights, a walk-around, and the aftercare card for whatever we put on the paint.

Saturdays we close at two, so Saturday is Refresh and Full detail only.
